"Think global,  act local !" This is the motto that led to the Robosphere project.

Globally, robotics is starting to invade the planet and will deeply change the human society like Information Technology (IT) did since the 80’s. Therefore, let’s prepare for these coming changes.
Moreover; by taking into consideration these technologies and their planned effects in the human society soon enough, it should be possible to influence a little bit the developments for a more mastered future.
Robotics is one of the few topics that is always appreciated by people. It will be a good way to attract people from very different fields and discuss the major topics of human society.

Locally, Europe could have a platform to show and reflect about the technological developments in progress. Switzerland needs to boost its High-Tech image and needs to position itself in this high potential field.
The french part of Switzerland could get an attractive place dedicated to the future. The Jura Mountains area and the Neuchatel Mountains would be more attractive with a tool providing a tribune and an economical diversification.
The engineering school educating HES graduates in the industrial robotics fields, the know-how in micro technology and the history that saw the famous automata, the robots ancestors, will make this place a logical and appropriate location. Quite a unique feature, it can be accessed by a railway station of the national network, a motorway, a bus line and the airport of Les Eplatures.
